I had created an account for her, appropriately titled LIL-Sweets, the night before, and already fanned SweetsOmega and arcticwolf07, which were Sweets the first and Rich respectively. I'd promised her that she could chat with her daughter, and I lived up to it. Later that night, I'd had plans to IM on Fanpop with the mother of Sweets, Sweets herself. It took Bolt and Kodi a little longer, but they got there. I told her, and she warmed to her quite fast. When she saw our newest family member, she called out to me and asked who this was. Kodi and Jenna were curled up at that moment sleeping, but Aleu was wide awake, gnawing on some toy that I don't remember. At that time, I'd had Bolt, Jenna, her daughter Aleu, her son Kodiak, and Scar herself living with me. Anyway, I brought our Sweets into the house, and she immediately set off exploring the house. In fact, excuse me for a moment while I laugh at that analogy.Īlright, I'm back. When we got to the house, I carried her into the house, Scar bounding along behind me like a dog wanting a stick. It was the nuttiest thing I had ever seen up until that time, and it still holds the record. I watched her with wonder as she turned her gaze back to the window and started naming off objects, such as a car, or a human, or a bicycle. Having not known this then, I was pleasantly surprised to hear her speak to us like she'd known us for years. "You're Colby, right? And that's Scar?" The cloning process replicated the memories and knowledge of the original, while still ensuring the integrity of the clone, but I'd had no clue of that. Scar's head whipped around at her voice, and I could see a small tear glistening in the corner of her eye. "Yeah?" Her voice was small, but it carried the same weight that her mothers did. She instantly looked over at me, a smile all over her muzzle. Her miniature, but fluffy, tail wagged happily the whole way home.įor the first time, I called her name. The entire ride home, Sweets rode in my lap, tiny forepaws bracing her small frame up against the side of the door so she could watch out the window. Before Scar hopped up into the car, I carefully picked up Sweets, and craddled her in my arms. I had taken the Viper today, mostly because I had been driving it around all day and I didn't have the time to head back to the house to switch vehicles. With Sweets riding on Scar in this fashion, I paid for the doctor's services, and walked slowly out to the car. The doctors and I laughed, but Scar stayed put, careful of her small passenger. The tiny wolf pup reared up on her own short legs and climbed slowly up onto Scar's head.īracing herself with her hind paws on the strap of Scar's collar, she lay there, looking immensely pleased with herself. Sweets stood on shaky legs and toddled her way across the gurney to Scar. Scar, my mate at the time, reared up and put her paws on the gurney and sniffed Sweets all over, tail wagging all the while. ![]() She looked up at me with trusting eyes and I knew then that she would be here forever. The doctors gave me the okay to pick her up, and I felt the soft fur and delicate body of my very own Sweets clone. She was laying on the gurney looking around, small, helpless, and insanely adorable. Scar went with me for this, and the instant we both saw her, our hearts just melted. I took the blood sample to the clone lab, and the next day, I went back to pick her up. I promised her that her clone was meant only to be a loving companion, not a mate. She gave me the okay to draw a small tube of her blood, and I made her a promise. I explained to her that I'd need a blood sample, for the cloning process, and that the scientists would create her double in a way that she would reach adult size in eight days, growing only at night under the influence of a heavy sedative. Having been expecting a no, I was quite surprised to recieve a yes. I had asked the real Sweets, who, as we all know, is Rich's mate, if I could clone her. ![]() When I first laid eyes on my Sweets, she was a tiny pup, no bigger than Scar's head.
